Buyers in search of a traditional full-size car continue to flock to
Ford’s rear-wheel-drive Crown Victoria sedan. Among the last of its
breed, the Crown Victoria holds a 4.6-liter V-8 engine. Mercury offers
a higher-priced version called the Grand Marquis.

Ford's smallest sport utility vehicle combines a friendly personality
with capable performance, especially when it is fitted with a V-6
engine. Compact dimensions and easy steering make the Escape a
pleasant vehicle to drive. Mazda's similar Tribute is considered to be
the Escape's slightly sportier cousin.

Ford’s full-size rear-wheel-drive van loses its V-6 base engine for
2004, making a 4.6-liter V-8 standard for E-150 models. A 5.4-liter
V-8 is optional. Heavier-duty E-350 Super Duty models may be equipped
with a new 6.0-liter diesel engine. Cargo vans are available in all
three series, but passenger Wagons come only in E-150 and E-350 Super
Duty levels.

Mammoth dimensions make Ford's largest sport utility vehicle a logical
choice only for owners who need space for nine people and their
luggage, and don't mind frequent fuel stops. Engine choices in the
Excursion include a super-duty Power Stroke diesel V-8.

Second in size only to the Excursion in Ford's lineup and related to
the Lincoln Navigator, the full-size Expedition sport utility vehicle
carries up to nine people and comes with a choice of V-8 engines. Five
trim levels are available, including the new XLT Sport and NBX
editions.

Ford's league-leading midsize sport utility vehicle gets several
enhancements for 2004. Similar to the Mercury Mountaineer, the
Explorer comes in seven flavors and may be equipped with rear-wheel
drive or four-wheel drive in order to suit a variety of SUV tastes.

Shoppers who'd like the cargo-carrying prowess of a pickup truck but
prefer a passenger-type vehicle are prospects for the Ford Explorer
Sport Trac, which tacks a cargo bed onto the back of a sport utility
vehicle. Based on the prior-generation Ford Explorer, the Explorer
Sport Trac uses V-6 power and comes in four trim levels.

Ford redesigned its top-selling model for the 2004 model year, giving
it a fresh look, all-disc brakes, stiffer construction and a wider
track. Two V-8 engines are available, and all models now have
rack-and-pinion steering. In the 2004 model year, Ford will continue
to offer versions of the previous-generation F-150 model, now called
the F-150 Heritage.

pickup trucks handle hauling duties that reach beyond the limits of
the half-ton F-150, which was redesigned for 2004. A new

New for 2004, Ford’s Freestar minivan replaces the Windstar, which was
sold from 1995 to 2003. A fold-flat third-row seat is installed for
the first time in a Ford minivan. The new Mercury Monterey is similar.

models from which to choose, as well as some stunning audio choices.

Ford won’t call it “retro,” but the company’s press material describes
the current Thunderbird as a “modern throwback to another optimistic
American era.” Its styling suggests the original 1955 – 1957
two-seater, but a modern powertrain sits beneath the hood.
