2005 Model

4Runner
Toyota's 4Runner sport utility vehicle may be equipped with either a V-6 or V-8 engine, as well as rear- or four-wheel drive. For 2005, the V-8 gains 35 horsepower. Such features as Downhill Assist Control and Hill-start Assist Control enhance the 4Runner's offroad potential.

Avalon
Redesigned for the 2005 model year, Toyota's largest model holds a new 3.5-liter V-6 and is bigger and roomier than its predecessor. A Touring edition targets younger buyers.

Camry
Toyota's popular front-wheel-drive midsize Camry is available in a variety of models and can have four-cylinder or V-6 power. All 2005 models have standard antilock brakes, and the Camry's exterior styling has been freshened.

Camry Solara
Redesigned for 2004, Toyota's midsize front-wheel-drive coupe gained a shapely new look. A new five-speed-automatic transmission became available, and the V-6 got more power. A convertible is also offered.

Celica
Facing its final season on the market, the low, snug Toyota Celica coupe emphasizes precise handling talents and high-revving performance — especially in GT-S form. Its styling was inspired by racecars, and an Action package with aero components is available.

Corolla
The compact Corolla carries on Toyota's long-standing tradition of dependable and economical small-car transportation. Though the Corolla isn't the least-expensive compact sedan, it ranks among the most sensible choices.

Echo
Distinctively upright in profile, the subcompact Toyota Echo is smaller than the Corolla and comes in either two- or four-door form. Special touches include a center-mounted instrument cluster.

Highlander
Related to the Lexus RX 330, Toyota's midlevel car-based sport utility vehicle has its own styling and personality. Face-lifted for 2004, the Highlander can be equipped with a four-cylinder or V-6 and front- or all-wheel drive.

Land Cruiser
Part of the Toyota lineup for roughly half a century, the Land Cruiser is a full-size sport utility vehicle that's related to the more expensive Lexus LX 470. Powered by a 4.7-liter V-8, the Land Cruiser has permanently engaged four-wheel drive. Like all 2005 Toyota SUVs, the Land Cruiser features the manufacturer's Star Safety System.

Matrix
Related to the Pontiac Vibe, the Toyota Matrix hatchback comes in three trim levels and is available with a choice of two engines and either front- or all-wheel drive.

MR2 Spyder
Featuring a mid-engine rear-wheel-drive configuration, Toyota's two-seat sports car is snug but fun on the road. Either a manual gearbox or a sequential manual transmission can be installed in the MR2 Spyder, which is facing its final season.

Prius
After three years in its prior form, Toyota's hybrid-powered Prius was redesigned for 2004 and enlarged enough to move from compact to midsize status. Rather than a four-door sedan, as it used to be, the current model is a stylish four-door hatchback. In contrast to Honda's hybrid system, electric operation is dominant in the Prius and the gasoline engine provides supplementary power. Demand has been strong, causing Toyota to increase production.

RAV4
Toyota's smallest sport utility vehicle received a face-lift for the 2004 model year and gained a larger and more powerful four-cylinder. Safety features are emphasized for 2005. Competing against such SUVs as the Ford Escape and Honda CR-V, the RAV4 may be equipped with front- or all-wheel drive. A redesign is likely soon.

Sequoia
Based on Toyota's Tundra pickup truck, the Sequoia is the company's largest sport utility vehicle. In addition to a freshened exterior for 2005, the Sequoia's 4.7-liter V-8 has gained 42 horsepower. This eight-passenger SUV may be equipped with either rear- or four-wheel drive.

Sienna
Launched as an early 2004 model, Toyota's redesigned Sienna minivan had a longer wheelbase and wider track than its highly capable predecessor, yet turned a tighter circle. Four trim levels are available, and all-wheel drive is offered on up-level versions. Siennas are manufactured in Indiana.

Tacoma
Toyota has redesigned its small pickup truck for 2005; the Tacoma is now larger and more powerful. Three cab styles and two bed lengths are offered, and these trucks can be equipped with two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. A new youth-focused X-Runner model is available.

Tundra
Toyota added a new, bigger Double Cab model to its full-size pickup truck lineup for 2004. A little smaller than domestic full-size models, the Tundra can be equipped with either V-6 or V-8 power. Both engines are more powerful for 2005. Tundras are available in three cab styles.
