Chevrolet goes retro with the HHR wagon, which takes the 1949 Suburban
as its design inspiration and incorporates styling touches from the
automaker's current SSR roadster pickup. Available in two trim levels
with a choice of two four-cylinder engines, the HHR may attract the
sort of buyers who fell for Chrysler's PT Cruiser.

Still known as America's sports car, the Chevrolet Corvette got a full
redesign and a more powerful engine for the 2005 model year. Shorter
and slightly narrower than its predecessor and sporting fixed
headlights rather than pop-up units, the sixth-generation coupe and
convertible promise nearly as much passenger space. A
super-performance Z06 edition with a 505-horsepower V-8 engine debuts
for 2006.

Chevrolet has redesigned its Impala full-size sedan and the related
Monte Carlo coupe for 2006. Two V-6 engines are available, and a

Chevrolet stepped up a notch in 2005 with its compact Cobalt, which
Chevy calls a "premium small car." Offered in coupe and sedan body
styles, the front-wheel-drive Cobalt comes standard with a
145-horsepower four-cylinder, the SS Supercharged coupe gets a 205-hp
engine, and regular SS models get a new 171-hp four-cylinder for
2006.

Soon after the 2004 model year began, Chevrolet launched its new
Colorado pickup truck — ready to take the place of the automaker's
compact S-10. GMC offers a similar Canyon model. Both the Colorado and
Canyon are available with either a four- or five-cylinder engine.
Minor option packages have been added for 2006.

Introduced as an early 2005 model, the Equinox sport utility vehicle
was considered Chevrolet's first crossover SUV because it combines SUV
styling with a car-based, unibody design. Related to the Saturn Vue,
it uses a 185-horsepower V-6, a five-speed-automatic transmission and
front- or all-wheel drive.

During the 2004 model year, 15-passenger versions of Chevrolet's
full-size Express van added General Motors' StabiliTrak electronic
stability system as a standard feature. For 2005, it went into
12-passenger models as well. Other changes are few for the 2006
Express, which is similar to GMC's Savana. Cargo Vans are also
available.

Redesigned for the 2004 model year, the front-wheel-drive Malibu
midsize sedan rides on General Motors' Epsilon platform and comes in
four trim levels. Chevrolet promises a European flair in its ride and
handling. An extended-length Malibu Maxx with a rear hatch is also
available. A high-performance SS sedan with a 240-horsepower V-6 joins
the 2006 lineup.

When Chevrolet redesigned its midsize Malibu for the 2004 model year,
the company also introduced a brand-new Malibu Maxx, which features a
longer wheelbase but is slightly shorter overall. Rather than a trunk,
the Malibu Maxx has a rear liftgate. A performance-oriented SS model
joins the 2006 lineup.

With its SSR pickup truck crossover, Chevrolet has come up with a
vehicle that's like nothing else on the road; it blends the features
of a pickup truck and a passenger car. Flaunting design cues that hark
back to pickups of the distant past, the SSR features a retractable
roof. Output has risen to 400 horsepower for 2006 (395 hp with the
automatic transmission), and new models offer a host of
dealer-installed accessories.

GMC Yukon but is smaller than the Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon XL.

Serving as one member of General Motors' group of midsize sport
utility vehicles, the Chevrolet TrailBlazer presents a strong
challenge for the league-leading Ford Explorer. Five passengers fit
inside the regular six-cylinder TrailBlazer, but Chevrolet also offers
an extended-length EXT version that seats seven and can be equipped
with V-8 power. New for 2006 is a high-performance TrailBlazer SS that
holds a 395-horsepower V-8.

The Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT is a longer, seven-passenger version of
the TrailBlazer sport utility vehicle. Since 2005, the EXT's available
V-8 has worked with Displacement on Demand technology. General Motors'
StabiliTrak electronic stability system is standard on 2006 models.

Chevrolet calls the Uplander a crossover sport van, but it has many
features of a traditional minivan, including sliding side doors and a
seven-passenger seating capacity. Available with front-wheel drive or
Versatrak all-wheel drive, the Uplander is available in LS and LT trim
levels, with a choice of equipment groups. A larger, 3.9-liter V-6
engine is available on 2006 models.
